I've read the story of Jodi and Chris - this husband and wife duo, going by the name of Love & The Outcome.  Their story includes selling everything they owned and moving from Canada to America, not knowing where they would stay, what they would do, etc...

Well, either they had a lot of valuable property to sell, or they raised a slew of money on their trip to Nashville, because their debut album is superbly produced.  I'm not sure how they plan on reproducing the sound live - whether it be with tracks, or if they will hire on additional musicians, but the entire album is filled with lovely sounds.

The opening track, "When We Love," will probably be the go-to song on the album for most people.  It is very upbeat, light, and easy to sing along to.  I think this one will probably rise in the adult contemporary charts.

Jodi King has a great voice, and it reminds me a bit of Rebecca St. James at times - or a variation of the fine voices of Point of Grace back in the day.  Another song that will soon become popular if released, is "He is With Us."  Very much like the first track, this song has a good beat and a very easy chorus to sing along to.

Although I know several of these songs will become popular in the adult contemporary world, this album did not "turn my head."  In other words, it didn't stand out to me as very original. Now, sometimes that can be due to the record label putting their hands into things.  I've seen bands go from having very original sounding material to "run of the mill" music as soon as the deal is cut.  So that could be the case here - I don't know.

The one song that did stand out to me, however, was "The Story You're Building in Me." This is a very heart-felt and delicate song that sucks you in to the story.  I think most anyone can relate to the lesson in this song:
"These are the things that matter in life. Living in every moment, cause I can't stop the time. Tomorrow's gonna be yesterday, so I don't want to miss a thing. This is the story You're building in me."
Because of how this song grabbed a hold of me, and because of the gentle lyrics that pull you in, this would have to be my favorite song on the album.

All in all, this was a very good first release for Love & The Outcome.  And for the majority of the Christian radio listeners out there, this will fit right along with pretty much every song currently being played.  The problem for me, however, is that I'm always looking for something fresh and different.  This album really doesn't do that for me.  Great quality production and great singing (I wish I heard more of Chris, actually), but it doesn't stand out, and for that I can only give it 3 out of 5.
