This is some good stuff right here.

Here's some quick background: FM Static is a side-project done by Trevor McNevan and the drummer for Thousand Foot Krutch, a hard rock band that's been around for a while. Personally, I would just stick with TFK when I pop my iPod in on the way to school.

This is my new morning music now.

The album is upbeat in its best songs, but it definitely slows it down perfectly and keeps the listener from changing the song once you start listening. I definitely wish they were more popular & on the radio more often. They deserve to be heard, because if word gets out about this, then they have the potential to take off and be really popular among more than just Christian listeners.

The songs on "My Brain Says No, But My Heart Says Yes!" are not just normal rock songs. They're different, and the first 6 songs you hear on the album are the ones I would consider the best. Even my least favorite song on the album is still pretty good. This FM Static album is my first, and I absolutely love it. Its so unique to me, and it doesn't just use guitar, drums & lead vocals. You'll hear a different number of instruments used, especially in the first song, titled after their album. Plus, I want that car on the front cover, so that makes it all the more cool to me. But besides the cool car & amazing artist, its good, clean, and fun music worth your time.

This album is definitely guaranteed to give you more bang for your buck. So you should DEFINITELY go get it. My heart still says yes, and my mind has changed its opinion, now that I've listened to this.

Favorite Song: My Brain Says Stop, But My Heart Says Go!

Favorite Lyrics: "I’m not the type to stay cold in the winter, but I know we had something special my dear, we all had our struggles, but faith kept us strong and, we always knew we would, end up right here." (From the song "Cinnamon & Lipstick")

Before this album I had never heard of Abandon. It is a possibility that I have heard one of their songs on the radio without knowing it, but they have never been on my radar. Now they are one of my favorite bands. The first song on the album “Feel It In Your Heart” really cemented itself in my brain. I found myself singing it to myself throughout the day. After hearing it for the first time I was singing along with it each time.
The second song “Help” sounds to me like a mix between the musical style of DC Talk and the modernity of Relient K. It has that kind of old school flare to it.
The whole album really is pretty solid. The album really flows, but each song can stand on its own. All of the songs on the album could become hits on the radio if more people knew about them. I am pretty sure that “Feel It In Your Heart” is already being played regularly on the radio, but none of the other songs are. I could definitely see “Hero” being a huge hit if more people heard it. The song is filled with so much emotion and really awe at our Savior.
Abandon started off the album with four or five songs that are really upbeat songs and ones you just want to dance to. Then they transition into more laid back and mellow songs. The last three songs are extremely emotional.
Abandon has now become one of my favorite bands, and even after my three times of listening to it for the review, I cannot stop listening to Control. It is just so solid. I hope they are more recognized for this album. I cannot wait to hear what they do next.
Favorite Song: Feel It In Your Heart
Favorite Lyrics: “There He goes - a hero. A savior to the world. Here he stands with scars in His hands. With love He gave His life so we could be free. The Savior of the world.” (From the song “Hero”)

Establishing the Foundation for our Blog

Hey guys, my name is Grant, and me and my friend Jonathan have decided that we are gonna use this little blog to show you guys the best of music and the best of life. We both love playing basketball [even though i'm better, of course ;) haha] and we like doing absolutely crazy and dumb stuff.

We're making this blog to review music, but that is not something that dominates our lives. Satan does not enslave us, relationships don't bind us, and sin does not hold us captive. We have been set free by the saving knowledge and great power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Some of you may call us crazy for believing in someone no one in our generation or anyone has ever seen in person for a long time, but no matter what names you decide to call us, we are bold about what we do and how we do it. We are real people on a real mission, and this is simply a mission field to reach out to you and connect with you. SO. I hope you guys enjoy what we have to put up on here and we hope you enjoy the music we review! If you have got any suggestions, let us know and we will try to fit it in!

Welcome!

This is Jonathan here. I decided that there needed to be a new voice out there in the Christian music world, so my friend Grant and I are going to post reviews on the latest Christian albums. We both love Christian music of all kinds, but most importantly we love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him we could not do any of this. So, hopefully we will be able to turn this blog into one that influences many people.
